about

The annual Futureboogie Summer Riot EPs have become a trusted staple in the label’s catalogue, and whilst 2020 continues to present all kinds of challenges, you can’t keep the good music down, and this year’s IX instalment has bolstered considerably, now spreading over two editions, and with 6 tracks apiece from some of our favourite producers.

Toby Tobias leads the charge on Part One of Summer Riot IX with a distinctly summery deep houser, as jazzy chords and cosmically charged synths interplay, whilst Glasgow’s rich musical tapestry is represented by Manakinz, who turn in a tribal tinged banger (think MURK), laced with a healthy dose of soul, courtesy of its choice vocal sample. Italian siblings, The Robinson, tick plenty of the Balearic dance influences on ‘Italy’, and Tech Support follows up stellar releases & remixes for Shadow City Records and Paradiso Records with the breezy ‘Shit Computer’.

Tecwaa follows up hi recent EP for Matt Walsh’s Clouded Vision label with a brooding, funk-infused beauty, and last, but by no means least, Kobanya3000 serves up the tasty and melodic ‘Malt & Appelsín’, that’s a deep as a wizard’s sleeve.
